The KVF women's playoffs are set for 13 to 15 January in Nairobi.

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league 2017 champions Kenya Pipeline are favourites to win the 2022 title whose playoffs are set for a fortnight.

Coach Paul Gitau who took over the team in 2020 and had gone without a championship since says they have been on a rebuilding path and the title is now tlwithin reach.

"My target is to win the playoffs so that they confirm we are champions. As a first assignment for the year, achieving it will be a morale booster for the young players and the team in general.

It has been a long journey, one we want to crown with lifting the title and set the motion for greater things," said Gitau.

The tactician believes the team's performance since actuon resumed at the conclusion of the World Championships is a clear indication is getting better.

"My team is not as experienced as people might think They are still gaining momentum and winning these matches when action resumed was important for myself and the players. Winning the league would be the beginning of good things for them," added Gitau.

The side goes to battle without some key players who have since left the club after landing professional deals among them setter Esther Mutinda who has joined rivals KCB.
